Barbara Jean Linkous

Barbara Jean Linkous, 83, of Pinnacle View Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on November 29, 2023, at her home. 

Born on July 18, 1940 in Max Meadows, VA, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Oscar and Elle Lee Pain Tate. She had been a resident of Bluewell for 58 years and was a member of the Sandlick Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and was the last surviving member of her family. 

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Nelson J. Linkous, Sr. of the home; two sons, Nelson J. Linkous, II and wife Dianna of Bluefield, and Richard D. Linkous and wife Brittany of Bluefield, WV; and 4 grandchildren, Miranda Linkous of San Jose, CA, Nelson Linkous, III of Tampa, FL Christian Linkous, of Bluewell and Andrew Linkous of Bluewell.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastors Eddie Mabe and Derik Cowan officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. 

Friends may call prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
