Barbara "Barbie" Rebecca East

Barbara Rebecca “Barbie” Hodges East, 47, of 300 Mary I Johnson Rd. Princeton, WV, formerly of Crumpler, WV, passed away at home on Monday, March 6, 2023 after a long battle with Covid. Born November 8, 1975, she was a daughter of Patricia Rorrer Hodges and the late Joseph “Bennie” Hodges. Barbie was an avid shopper and loved yard sales. She loved buying for her nieces and nephews. She loved doing  crafts.

Barbie is survived by her husband, Larry East; daughter, Haley Hodges; grandson, Gage Tiller; mother, Patricia Hodges; step-daughter, Candance Thornhill; sister, Diana Watkins of Bluewell, WV; two brothers, Joe Hodges (Wendy) of Powhatan, VA, and Ed Hodges (Tammy) of Statesville, NC; numerous nieces and nephews who loved her like a mother.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Smearman and Rev. Robert Hudler officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Brandon Lafferty, Josh Farmer, Jeremy Hunt, Tracy York, Nick Harrison, and Candon Christian will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the East family.
