Austin 'Tyler Carosi, 22, of Taylorsville, NC, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC from cardiac complications of COVID-19.
Born on February 5, 1998 In Princeton, he was the son of Tracie "Michele" Platt and step father Jeff Platt of Taylorsville, NC. He attended Tabernacle Christian High School.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents Paul and Cleo Carosi, of Bluefield WV; Gene and Ruth Teasley of Job o WV and Sue Carroll of Taylorsville NC.
Tyler was an avid sportsman with a true passion for basketball. He was a lifelong fan of the Duke Blue Devils. The only thing he had a greater love for was his young son, Greyson. Tyler was a dedicated father committed to being a loving parent and a positive role model for Greyson. Family was important to Tyler. He had a special bond with a tremendous love for his grandparents. As such, his final resting place will be with his grandparents on the Carosi family farm.
Those left to cherish his memory are parents, Jeff and Michele Platt, his son Greyson Carosi; grandparents James and Deborah Carosi of Bluefield WV; Jeffrey and Bobble Platt of Morganton, NC; Cathy and Andy Miller of Hickory NC; and great grandparent Jerry Carroll of Hickory NC.
Special aunt Jamie Carosi and fiancé Michael Hale of Bluefield WV; uncle Shane Carosi, wife Lorri and son Ethan of Princeton WV. Aunt Ashley and husband Adam Gragg of Taylorsville, NC; Aunts Janet Carroll and Karen Brown.
Pallbearers will be Adam Gragg, Kelly Smith, Tanner Miller, Chris Jones, Trey Surface, Austin Boyce and Mason Burner.
A private service for family and close friends will be held Friday, January 8, 2020 with Pastor Eddie Mabe and Pastor Scott Hooks officiating. Burial will follow at the Carosi family farm In Sandlick WV. Due to COVID restrictions everyone Is asked to wear a mask and to maintain social distancing of at least 6ft apart.
