Arvel “Jim” Blevins loving husband, dad, and papaw, 82 of Princeton, WV, formerly of Anawalt, WV went home to be with his Lord on Monday, February 10, 2025, at his home with loving wife and family by his side.
Jim was born in Amelia County, VA on July 19, 1942, to Arvel M Blevins, Sr and Loxie E Blevins. He served as Pastor of Crozier Baptist Church, Elkhorn, WV for 30 years. A former heavy equipment operator for US Steel Mining Corporation and Southern Edge Mining Co. for many years from which he retired. All that knew him knew he loved the Lord first and foremost and loved his family with all of his heart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Ruby Jean Buchanan, brother Frank Blevins, and grandson Jacob Farmer.
Survivors include his wife Sandra A Blevins of the home, daughter’s Gina (John) Webb, Draper, VA, Mary Farmer, Radford, VA, son Jimbo Blevins (Phyllis), Princeton, WV. 7 grandchildren Teri (Mark), Brandi (Todd), Travis, Kellie, Kari, Bubba (Adrean), and Bobby Joe. 12 great grandchildren Madison, Hannah, Paige, Kayden, Jocelyn, Makynna, Owen, Kyler, Khol, Harper, Rylan, and Sadie. One great great-granddaughter Whitney Jo. Sisters Bonnie Blevins and Teresa Chapman.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at Cravens Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, WV with Pastor Donnie Farmer officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Bubba Blevins, Kayden Farmer, Travis Webb, Mark Franklin, Todd Music, and Frank Nash. Honorary pallbearers Jimbo Blevins and Bobby Joe Blevins. Friends may visit Friday, February 14, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
