Arthur Lloyd Bailey

Arthur Lloyd Bailey, 67, of Crumpler, and formerly of Rock, departed this life on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

Arthur was born November 23, 1950 in Bluefield and was a son of the late Arthur Melvin and Jo Ann (Ratliff) Bailey of Rock.

Arthur retired from Consolidated Coal Company, Buchanan #1 mine where he was employed as a section foreman. As a hobby, Arthur worked at the Happy Harvest Greenhouse in Crumpler for 13 years meeting many new friends. Arthur was a faithful member of the Crumpler United Methodist Church where he held various positions throughout the years.

Left to cherish Arthur’s memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia (Patsy) Lukach Bailey of the home; and their only child, Evan Lee Bailey and his wife, Carmen of Crumpler; 2 grandsons, Ashton and Callen; brother, Barry Bailey and wife Valerie of Rock; sisters, Robin Thompson and husband Randy of Bluefield, Lorna Jones and husband Robert of Rock; nieces, Nickie Lawson and husband Jeff of Bluefield; Brittney Jones of Bluefield, Brooke Gattoni and husband Joel of Canada, Jill Kirby and husband Brandon of Huntington, Erin Jones and fiancé Aaron of Christiansburg, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Mark Smearman officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell where Barry Bailey, Justin Caves, Alvin Hodges, Dickie Jones, Vernon Mullins and Delbert Mullins will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Monday from 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home.
