Arnold Gene Taylor

Arnold Gene Taylor, 84, of Littlesburg Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 Richfield Recovery and Care in Salem, VA.

Born on October 28, 1934 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Edgar and Gladys Brookman Taylor. He had retired from Mercer County Board of Education as a school teacher. He was a veteran of the US Marines and was a member of the Maple View Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James (Buck) Taylor, and a sister, Betty Tilley.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Ann Harris Taylor of the home; two sons, Ronald (Laurie) Taylor of Salem, VA, and Richard Taylor of Peterstown, WV; a daughter, Rachael Taylor of Shelbyville, KY; 5 grandchildren; and a brother, Lewis “Buddy” (Pat) Taylor of Bluefield.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minster Tony Reed officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Princeton with Matthew Taylor, Paul Taylor, Bobby Gentry, and other family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Monday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
