Alvin Eugene Chilco, 75, of Eleanor, West Virginia formerly of Bluewell, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, August 06, 2017 at his residence. Alvin was born on June 20, 1942 in Freeman, West Virginia to Zenith Byrd Chilco of Bluewell, WV and the late Andrew “Chic” Chilco. Alvin was a member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church and a former Chief of the Bluewell Volunteer Fire Department. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired from Consol Coal Company as a Foreman at the Amonate, West Virginia coal mine. He had been a resident of Eleanor, West Virginia for the past three years. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his first wife Connie Chilco and one brother Michael Chilco. Survivors include his wife Linda Arnold Chilco of the home, one son Richard Chilco and wife Cindy of Gastonia, North Carolina; one daughter Heather Chilco Kitts and husband Mack of Bluewell, West Virginia. Two brothers Billy Chilco and wife Peggy of Bluewell, West Virginia and Ronnie Chilco and wife Hedie of Greensboro, North Carolina. Two sisters Beverly Ratcliff and husband David of Bluewell, West Virginia and Paula Hall and husband Norman of Princeton, West Virginia. Two step grandchildren Savannah and Tucker and two grandchildren Thomas Kitts and Mariah Kitts and three step grandchildren Mariana, Emily and Matthew. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 09, 2017 at 11:00 am at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia with Rev. David Ratcliff and Rev. Melissa White officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia where members of the Bluewell Volunteer Fire Department will be serving as pallbearers and Conducting Fireman Honors at the graveside. The Chilco family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, August 09, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
