Agnes Marie Green

Agnes Marie Green, 82 of Welch, WV passed away on July 8, 2020 unexpectedly at Pikeville Medical Center, Ky.  She was born to the late Dewey Knuckles and Mary Opal Cochran Knuckles, May 21, 1938 in Vivian, WV.  Agnes was the lifelong “office manager” for the family business owned by her husband Philip Green.  She was also a very talented cake decorator in which she ran her own business for 40+ years.  Anywhere she went, she would have someone recognize her for the fact that she made a cake for them for a special event.   She was always so proud of her accomplishments and took pride in her work.  She loved gardening and spending time with her family.  She was a loving wife and mother, a peacemaker, always known for taking care of others and she would always put others before herself.      

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Philip Green, Jr..  She is also survived by her three children Michael Green of Welch, Lisa Dawn Lewis and her husband Darrell Lewis of Rocky Mount, Va. and Regina Otey and her husband Bobby Otey of Rocky Mount, Va.; 3 grandchildren, Tyler Gibson, Sheena Neal and Raven Shianne Bailey; 3 special sisters Freda Smith, Sylvia Goodson and Kathy Young; 2 great grandchildren, Jaxn and Ian Beavers; neighbor and special friend of many years Sharon Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 8 siblings, Mack Knuckles, Irene Knuckles Moore, Dewey Knuckles, Bobby Knuckles, Billy Knuckles, Bonnie Knuckles Porterfield, Raymond Knuckles and Kenneth Knuckles. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 13, 2020 from 12:00-1:30 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 with Elders Lonnie Mullins, Dennie Mullins and John Caves officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
