Brenda Sue East, 70, of Cola Avenue (Bluewell), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at her home. Born on May 10, 1946 in Crumpler, she was a daughter of the late Elbert and Ethel Knuckles Rose. She had been a resident of Bluewell since 2004 and had formerly lived in Northfork. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee East, and 5 brothers, Clarence, Johnny, Lawrence, Lonnie and James Rose. Survivors include: 2 sons: Dwayne East and Tanya of Bluewell Brian East and companion Tina White of Green Valley Daughter: Sandra Burkett and companion Carl Dickerson of Tazewell, VA 5 grandchildren: Ricky East of Bluewell David Burkett, Jr. of Bluewell Aaron Burkett of Bluewell Katelyn East of Bluewell Amber East of Green Valley 3 great grandchildren: Bryson Neal of Bluewell Aaron Burkett, Jr. of Oceana Hailey Burkett of Oceana 4 Brothers: London Rose and Joan of OH Oley Rose of Glenwood Jerry Rose of Glenwood Ray Rose and Glenna of Northfork 4 sisters: Jean Rose of Northfork Martha Rose of Abbs Valley, VA Shirley Rose of Johnson City, TN Rosie Hurt and Linnie of NC Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Teddy Warden officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
