Jackie “Treʹ” Michael Whitehead, III went to be with his Lord on Monday, February 27, 2017 after succumbing to the injuries he sustained in a car accident. He was born, Tuesday, January 19, 1999 in Mercer County, WV, a son of Samantha Whitehead Pruett and Jackie M. Whitehead, Jr. of Bluefield, VA. Tre’ was kind, thoughtful, funny, cheerful, energetic, athletic, imaginative, and multi-talented. He was a joy to his family and friends. His interests included sports, car mechanics, and music. He was a Miami Dolphins fan and an outstanding percussion musician who loved playing the quints marching drums for the high school band. He attended Mercer County Adult Education Center and was about to take the LPN entrance exams to become a nurse. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Shelmaknee Whitehead, maternal great grandparents Helen and Jim Farley, Jackie and Ed Pruett, Sr., and Dickie Lee Brewer as well as paternal great grandparents, Jack and Sue Peoples and “Gigi” Shirley Davis. In addition to his parents he is also survived by brothers, Taylor Whitehead, Issiah Whitehead, Dejuan Young, a sister, Abigail Whitehead, grandparents, Ed and Merilyn Pruett, Jackie & Renee Whitehead, special cousins Donte Huff, Elizabeth Bittle, Cynthia Harrell, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind his sweetheart, Morgan Coulter and special close friends, Elijah Pauley and Levi Stroupe as well as many others whose lives he touched. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 04, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Bluefield 1325 August St. Bluefield; WV with the Rev. Ed Fisher officiating the service. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where his friends and family will be serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Tre’s name.
