Hubert Fred Stepp, 89 of 152 Don Minnix Lane (Bluewell) Bluefield, WV died on Tuesday February 21st with his loving son Benjamin Timothy Stepp. Born November 1st, 1927 in Louisa KY, he was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison Stepp and Effie Wooten Stepp Wilbur. Mr. Stepp was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He served in US Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been a resident of Bluewell for 62 years. Mr. Stepp was a christian man that provided for his family by working as a large equipment operator for US Steel and later retired from Consolidation Coal Company. After retiring from the mines, Mr. Stepp continued to work as a flea marketing man. He was an avid outdoorsman, never met a stranger and his home was always open to family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Audrey "Bobby" Tabor Stepp, by two brothers Raymond Stepp and Clarence Wilbur, four sisters Evelyn Preston, Garnet Stepp, Gladys Marsh, and Gaynell Blakely. Survivors include sons Hubert Keith Stepp of Denton NC, Donald L. Stepp and wife Carol of Lexington NC; daughters Kathy L. Hamm of Ghent WV, Deborah Anne Shelton and husband Don of Hardy, Va, and Karen Michelle Stepp and partner Jeffrey Stacy of Dublin Va; 4 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and best friend Gary Lawson of Bluefield Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Saturday at the Cravens-Shires funeral home in Bluewell with TG Ayers, Senior Pastor Community Advent Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Courthouse Road in Princeton where Pastor DJ Stinson will officiate. Ronnie Basconi, Kevin Crane, Dalton Egnor, Ricky Hayes, Billy Stinson, Danny Stinson, Steven Tibbs, and Billy Wimmer will serve as pallbearers.
