Duard L. Garrison

KELLYSVILLE — Duard L. Garrison, 89, of Kellysville, WV, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born June 08, 1927 in Big Stone Gap, VA to Noah J. and Dorothy Robinson Garrison. He retired from Appalachian Power in Glen Lyn, VA after 38 years of service. He had been a active member of Oakvale United Methodist Church since 1948. He was a member of Intermont Lodge #269 in Narrows, Virginia. He is a veteran of the US Navy. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Ronald Garrison, two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Della Whitt Garrison, two sons Kenneth Garrison and wife Lois and Glenn Garrison and wife Sandra. One daughter Melinda Perdue and husband Jimmy, and daughter-in-law Geri Garrison, along with ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Jean Jessee. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 04, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Olen Robertson and Rev. Bill Crawford officiating the service. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.
