Larry James Carter, age 65, of Lavender Lane, Princeton, WV died on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his home with his family surrounding him. Born on May 27, 1951, in Welch, WV, he was a son of the late Charlie and Mary Blankenship Carter. He had lived in Princeton for the past 25 years. He was a coal truck driver. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and working on his 1968 Camaro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vanessa Carter; a son, David Carter; brothers, Ronnie and Jerry Carter; and a sister Beatrice Homan. Survivors include: Son: Jarred Seth Carter and wife Sissy of the home Brothers: Harold Carter and wife Betty of Beckley, WV Donald Carter and wife Patricia of Montcalm, WV Sisters: Emogene Brown and husband Sonny of Shrewsbury, WV Faye Pedrero and husband Jimmy of Elizabeth, NJ Dorothy Cooper and husband Roger of Chesapeake, WV Grandchildren: David and Charity Special Brother-in-Law, whom he thought of as a father figure, Charles “Chuck” Homan of Fayetteville,NC Special Sister-in-Law, whom Larry thought of as a sister, Rebecca “Becky” Young Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Anthony Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be John Young, Homer Denton, Michael Hall, Joseph Carter and Dwayne Carter.
