Clara Mae Tabor

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 Clara Mae Tabor, 96, of Packing Plant Road (Brushfork), Bluefield, WV, departed the world on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 to her heavenly home.   Born on April 13, 1920 in Nemours, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Bessie Surface Wimmer. She attended Sandlick Baptist Church and always enjoyed the message of her pastor, Nelson Linkous. Mae was a homemaker and caregiver for several family members.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer M. Tabor; a son, Carl A Tabor; three grandchildren, Darrell Eugene Carter, Bonnie Farrow, and Gary Burnopp; two sisters, Ruth Perdue and Alice Strouth. She is the last surviving sibling of her family.   Mae is survived by three children, Doris Burnopp (Donald) of Bluefield; Sharon Carter of Wilmington, DE, and Patty Warburton (James) of Rock; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.   The family would like to thank Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Dr. Phade and the special caregivers for many years, Sabrina Clark and Kim Dawson. She will be missed by her family.   Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:30AM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Eddie Mabe officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Princeton where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.   Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.   Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com
