John “Johnny” L. Romans Jr., 70, of Bluefield, West Virginia went to be with the LORD on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, West Virginia. He was born on February 03, 1946 in Bluefield, West Virginia. He was the son of the late John Lacy Romans and Violet Turner Romans. He was retired from Appalachian Power Company with 34 years of service. Johnny loved his family and most of all the trips to Myrtle Beach. Johnny served his country with the United Sates Army during the Vietnam conflict. He will be loved and forever missed by family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Christopher Romans; Sister June Lawrence; brother in law Jim Gibberson who helped raise him; mother in law Frances Osborne; father in law Raymond Osborne. He is survived by his best friend and wife Anna “Susie” Osborne Romans of the home; Sister Betty Gibberson who helped raise him; two daughters Kristy Dale and husband Brian, Kelly Thompson and husband Jack. Grandchildren Ian Dale, Emma Dale, Christian Hull, Cade Thompson. Nephews Jim Gibberson and wife Susan and their children Kelsey and Brandon and his girlfriend Christina, Michael Osborne and wife Kayla who Johnny helped raise and their son Jackson. Niece Rhonda Osborne Hungate and husband Tony, their daughter Carolyn Tickle and fiancé Jeremy Thompson. Very special great great nephew Kameron Joel Thompson. Mother of his children and friend Debbie Bucchi and his fur baby Sam. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Harry Hull and Jim Gibberson officiating the service. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia where Brian Dale, Richard Osborne, Michael Osborne, Christian Hull, Jack Thompson, Steve Browning, Emory Jones and Harry Hull serving as pallbearers. The Romans family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
