Mary Louise Lindsay, 87, of Matthews, North Carolina formerly of Bluefield, West Virginia went to be with her heavenly father on Friday, December 09, 2016 at the home of her son and daughter-in- law Calvin Lindsay and wife Deborah. Mary was born on January 28, 1929 in McDowell County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Burrell and Eula Carter. She was a devout wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she gave herself to all she came in contact with. Mary gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bluefield, West Virginia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Arthur Lindsay, Sr.; one daughter, Shirley Lindsay; one son, Walter Arthur Lindsay Jr.; one brother, James Carter; four sisters, Bertha Prettyman, Nancy Prunty, Clara Cox and Ogliva Henderson. Left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Calvin Lindsay and wife Deborah of Matthews, North Carolina; Robert Carter and wife Niecy of Charleston, West Virginia; One special niece who was more like a sister, Gazetta West of Houston, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluefield, West Virginia with Rev. Eugene Watson officiating the service. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens on Rt. 20; Bluewell, West Virginia where friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The Lindsay family will be receiving friends and relatives on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
