June Shoda

June Gilmore Shoda, 93, of Coal Heritage Road, Bluefield, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Princeton Community Hospital following a brief illness.   Born October 20, 1923 in Montcalm, she was a daughter of the late Carl Gilmore and Flora Taylor M. Boyd. June was a school teacher for forty years and treasured the many students she taught throughout her long career. She was of the Christian faith.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Shoda, and sons, Douglass Riggs and Tim Riggs.   Left to cherish her memories are her son, John Shoda; daughter, Marie Nash and husband Marty; son, James Riggs; beloved grandson, Matthew Shoda; daughter in law, Sandra Riggs; granddaughters, Cynthia Riggs, Mandy Valentine, Samantha Riggs along with great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.   Funeral services will be conducted by Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Williams officiating.
