Kathleen Marie Bircham

Kathleen Marie Burgess Bircham, 81, of York, SC, and formerly of Coke Plant Road, Bluewell, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at her daughter’s home.   She was born on June 22, 1935 in Maybeury. She was a daughter of the late Hector and Ida Woods Burgess. She was a loving mother, wife, and sister for dearly loved the Lord.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Roger L. Bircham, Sr.; and three brothers, Earl Burgess, Howard Mitchelson and Dave Burgess; and a granddaughter, Tonja Brindle.   Survivors include her daughter, Ida “Sissy” Bircham, where she made her home in York, SC; three sons, Gordon “Benny” Sutphin and Linda of York, SC, Roger L. “Todd” Bircham, Jr. and wife Michelle of Beckley, and Hector H. Bircham and wife Rhonda of Princeton; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lee Sims of Lyndhurst, VA and a host of nieces and nephews.   The family also wishes to thank Hospice of SC for the excellent care they provide during our mom’s time of illness.   Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Roger Carroll and Pastor David Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.   Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.   Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com
