Roger Duane Crawford

Roger Duane Crawford, 75, of Yards Road, Nemours, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born on April 4, 1941 in Pocahontas, VA, he was a son of the late Wilson and Eva Chapman Crawford. He had been a resident of Nemours for all of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired mechanic for Joy Manufacturing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chrissy Williams; and a brother, Hampton Crawford. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Margaret Thompson Crawford; children, Anita Muncy, Rebecca Cochran, Duane Crawford and John Collins, all of Nemours, and Regina Williams of Abbs Valley; grandchildren, Keith Williams, Heather Sparks, Melissa, Virginia and Laura Hale, Stephanie Woodall, Crystal Muncy, Sarah, Samuel, and Samantha Crawford, and Noah Crawford; 4 great grandchildren, Austin and Kaylynn Sparks, Amanda Williams, and Parker Woodall; and a brothers, Carlos and William Crawford of Nemours. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastors Dewayne Belcher and Jim Kestner officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 1:00 at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA.
