BLUEFIELD—June (Hash) Miller, 94, of Hampton, VA, former resident of Bluefield, WV for 57 years passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at Northampton Convalescent & Rehab Center, Hampton, VA. June was born July 18, 1922 in Fox, Virginia to the late Charles and Christie Hash of Galax, VA. She was a member of Cumberland Heights Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She graduated from Independence High School in Independence, VA in 1940. During WWII, June worked for the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C. Upon her return, she met her husband of nearly 70 years, Roy in Chilhowie, VA and were married three months later. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Hash of Galax, VA (79) and five sisters, Ruth Phipps of Mouth of Wilson, VA (97); ,Virginia Sullivan of Chilhowie, VA (94); Logene Shupe of Abingdon, VA (90); Charlotte Ashley of Grassy Creek, NC (94); and Susie Huggin of Atlanta, GA (85). Survivors include her husband Roy G. Miller of Bluefield, WV; daughter Connie Bivens of Martinsburg, WV and son Keith Miller of Hampton, VA; two brothers, Kelly Hash of Galax, VA; Alex Hash of Clemson, SC (88), and one sister, Kathleen Arrington of Vinton, VA. She has six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), WV, with Pastor Jim Kestner officiating. A private burial will follow in Chilhowie, VA. The Miller family will be receiving friends and relatives on Tuesday, December 06, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
