Larry M. Kinzer, 74 of Bluewell, WV passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at The Maples Nursing Home. He had lived at 262 Bluewell Ave. with his wife, Mary, for 43 years. Born April 6, 1942, in Montcalm, WV, he was the son of Ezra Kinzer and Nellie Riggs Kinzer. Larry was educated in McDowell County Schools. He was of the Pentecostal faith and gave his life to the Lord under the preaching of Steven Umberger who ministered to him at the nursing home. Larry learned his carpentry trade at a young age from his grandfather, Gilbert Riggs. Larry then moved to Martinsville, VA, where he worked for several construction companies. After coming back to Bluewell he was the major developer of Bluewell Estates, having built eleven homes in that development. He then built Kinzer Apartments as well as Kinzer’s Coin-Op Laundry in Bluewell. A few years later, he developed Clearview Mobile Home Park and Kinzer’s Mobile Home Park, also in Bluewell. Throughout his life he and his wife, Mary, ran these businesses together, until his health began to decline. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Greg, and a brother, Ralph. Larry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Cline Kinzer of the home, two sons, Richard Kinzer and wife Christine of Bluewell and Larry Allen Curry Kinzer of Martinsville, VA., one brother Wendall Kinzer of Columbia, SC. and multiple family members as well as lifelong friends in the area. Servies will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell on Monday, November 14, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Steven Umberger officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00a.m. to the time of the service. Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.
