Doris June Pigg, 89, of Sandlick, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Cassells’s Board and Care in Princeton. Born on May 3, 1927 in Sandlick, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Eva Elizabeth Poe Surface. She had been resident of Sandlick for most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sandlick United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brondley Damon Pigg; a son, Ronald Wayne Pigg; and two brothers, Carl Andrew Surface and James Ray Surface. Survivors include her son, Brondley Joe Pigg and wife Leslie of Bluefield; granddaughter, Stacy Pigg; special nephew, Johnny Ray Surface and wife Donna of Princeton; brother, Donald Surface and wife Janice of Princeton; a sister, Ruth Surface Cassell of Princeton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 7, 2016 11:00 am at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Jay Van Reenan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00am at the funeral home.
