Mildred Marie Blevins, 86, of Menor Road (Lashmeet), Rock, formerly of Bluefield, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the home of her son. Born on April 10, 1930 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Melissa Ratcliffe Farlow. She had been a resident of Bluefield for most of her life and was a faithful member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Winfrey Blevins; and a son in law, Brian Davidson. Family was her life. Survivors include her sons, Jeffery Blevins and wife Wanda of King, NC and Timothy Blevins and wife Lori of Lashmeet; daughters, Cynthia Havens and husband Craig of Montcalm, and Laura Beth Davidson of Bluefield; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Arnold Farlow of Cleveland, OH and Larry Farlow of Hopkinsville, KY. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Bluewell United Methodist Church in Bluewell with Rev. Steve Rector and her grandson, Rev. Albert Mitchem officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell and on Saturday, one hour prior to services at the church.
