Jack Osborne, 71, of Sunset Drive, Athens, and formerly of Iaeger, won the battle on Saturday October 1, 2016. He fought a good fight and kept the faith. Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain.
Born on September 18, 1945 in Horse Creek, WV, he was a son of the late Rural and Alice Mullins Osborne. He was a disabled coal miner and attended the Landmark Bible Church in Speedway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, an infant, Sally, and Birdie Reynolds; and 2 brothers in law, Jim Reynolds, Sr. and Danny Clevenger, Sr.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Susie Darlene Cassady Osborne of the home; two daughters, Alice Jones and Dan of Ballard; and Rebecca Hazelwood and Raymond Backwoods of Athens; two grandchildren, Amy Hazelwood and Cassie Jones; two step grandchildren, Tim Jones of Urbana, OH and Nathan Jones and wife Felecia of Urbana, OH; and three great grandchildren brother, Edward Osborne and Kay of Iaeger; three sisters, Myrtle Osborne of Iaeger, Liz Clevenger of Iaeger, and Bonnie Reynolds and Mike of Abingdon, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
