David Allen Belcher

David Allen Belcher, 60, of Bluewell, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital.   Born on January 30, 1956 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Bennie and Mabel Belcher. He had been a resident of Bluefield for 31 years and was a retired social worker and miner. He was a 1974 graduate of Northfork High School and then obtainer a Regent of Bachelor of Arts degree from Bluefield State College. He was a former member of UMWA and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the Eagles Lodge.   Survivors include his wife, Suzanne L. Hardesty Belcher of the home; and two sons, Jason Douglas Belcher and wife Tamie of Fredericksburg, VA, and Christian Dean Oster of the home.   Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Craig Hammond officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell where Jason Belcher, Christian Oster, Bill Edmond, Eddie Shaw, Tony Constantino, Jeff Belcher, Doug Belcher and Joe Pennington will serve as pallbearers.   Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.   Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com
