William E. "Bill" Myers

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted- Matthew 5:4. William E. Myers (Bill) of Bluefield joined his Heavenly Father on September 18, 2016 at Princeton Community Hospital following a short illness. Bill was a World War II veteran who was born on March 27, 1924 in Horsepen, Virginia. He was the son of Charles S. Myers and Jennie May Matthews-Myers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Marie Chrisley-Myers; 1 sister and 1 brother; 5 children: Ellen Goins, David Myers, Shirley Ruble, Bobby Myers and Scott Myers (all of Bluefield); and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. A time of gathering for friends and family will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell on Monday, September 19, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Curtis Honaker and Buddy Goins officiating followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
