Frances Finley

Frances Finley, 74, of Gary, departed to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. Born on May 18, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Hazel Lester. She had been a resident of McDowell Nursing and rehab in Gary. Before her illness, she enjoyed bowling and playing games, especially BINGO. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Finley; daughters, Robin Finley and Reba Mahaffey; sisters, Jean Finley and Linda Rahmlow; brothers, Jimmy, Roger, and Bert Lester, and a step-brother, Donald Finley. Survivors include daughters, Rhonda and Steve Bowens of North Welch, Romonia and Lloyd Mitchem if Gary; her only son, Ronald “Gregory” Finley, of North Welch; sisters, Christine and Danny Craft, Margaret Lykens, Annetta “Tweety” and Pete Blankenship, all of Gary; granddaughters, Lori Beth and Roy Scarberry of North Welch, Melanie and Mike Vanover of Galax, VA, Candace Mitchem and companion Jason Lane of Falls Mills, VA, grandsons, Joseph and Pam Mahaffey of Galax, VA, Ronald Gregory Finley, Jr. and Tyler Mitchem of Rural retreat, VA, Matthew Finley of North Welch and a host of great and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Ron Felts officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family members will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
