Joyce Bevins

Joyce Robinson Bevins, 82, of Skating Rink Hollow Road, Bluefield, finished her journey into eternal peace on September 12, 2016 at Country View Assisted Living in Peterstown. Born on January 9, 1934 in Goodwill, she a daughter of the late Mitchell and Della Mae Bailey Robinson. She and her late beloved husband of 45 years, Coy Bevins, Sr., primarily made their home in Indiana and retired to West Virginia. She was a homemaker along with being a cook for the railroad, country club, and MCL Cafeteria in Indiana. She took on the tedious job of baby sitting every kid in the neighborhood. Her life was devoted to her family. She loved quilting, embroidiery, and gardening. Families and friends have been blessed with her talents and enjoyed her canned goods. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Bevins, Sr., 3 brothers, Floyd, Dale, and Joseph Robinson; 5 sisters, Mary Woodard, Elizabeth Jones, Carrie Kunkle, Lorraine McKeever, Eunice Lilly and 1 great granddaughter, Leitha Moore. Left to cherish her memories are her 3 sons, Frank Bevins and Judy of IN, Coy Bevins, Jr and Brenda of Princeton, and David Bevins and Denise of Ohio; three daughters, Jackie Green and Dennis of Colorado, Dianne Harman and Arnold of Bluefield, and Alice Davis of IN; 2 sisters, Earlene Foreman and Phyllis Hawkins; 1 brother, Charlie Robinson 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Steve Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30-11:00 at the funeral home.
