Glenna Joyce Dempsey

Glenna Joyce Dempsey, 63, of Pinnacle View Road (Bluewell), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Princeton Health Care. Born on March 20, 1953 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of Rosie Tucker Taylor of Sandlick and the late Jr. Taylor. She had been resident of Bluewell for 40 years and received an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Bluefield State College. She was a former employee of Tabor Equipment as an accountant. She attended the Bluefield Church of God. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Taylor. Survivors include her husband, Arnold Sampson Dempsey of the home; a son, Arnold “Sammy” Dempsey, Jr. of Bluewell; a daughter, Tonya Akers and husband Phil, of Bluewell; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 2 brothers, Jerry Taylor of Falls Mills, VA, and Terry Taylor and wife Lisa of Green Valley, WV; and sisters, Brenda Mooney and husband Fred of Sandlick, Linda O’Donnell of Princeton, Debbie Jones and husband Gary of Princeton, and Diana East of Mickey of Windmill Gap. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Phil Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Jerry Taylor, Darrell Poe, Freddy Poe, Darrell Poe, Jr., Phil Akers, II, Tyler Poe and Stacy O’Donnell will serve as pallbearers.
