David Willard Smith

David Willard Smith, 64, of Schenley Avenue, Bluefield, VA, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at his home. Born on October 30, 1951 in Maybeury, he was a son of the late Charlie and Hazel Roark Smith. He had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield, VA for 24 years and was a member of the East River Church in Bluefield, VA. He was a former employee of the East River Mountain Tunnel. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Jupina Smith of the home; son; David Michael Smith of Princeton; daughter, Melissa Clemins and James of Princeton; and 2 stepsons, Christopher M. Linkous of Bardstown, KY and Jason B. Linkous of New Haven, KY; 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild; 2 sisters, Jesse Coppola of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jean Newville of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the East River Church in Bluefield, VA with Pastor Tim Boyd officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
