James Howard Belcher, I, 69, of Highland Lane, Bastian, VA, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital in Richmond, VA. Born on November 30, 1946 in Hemphill, he was a son of the late James P. and Ella Cox Belcher. He had lived in Bastian for 30 years and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a veteran of the US Marines and was retired from the US Postal Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Belcher. Survivors include his wife, Marsha Kish Belcher of the home; daughter, Angela Renee Lindblad and Paul of Ruckersville, V; sons, Joshua Belcher and wife Crystal of Bastian, VA, and James Belcher, II of Christiansburg, VA; 5 grandchildren, Elijah, Carter, Savannah, Lilygrace, and Shaine; brother, Clarence Belcher of Welch; and sister, Linda High of Virginia Beach, VA. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Allen Ashworth officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
