Lotus McKinney

TUSCALOOSA – Lotus Esther McKinney, age 89, of Tuscaloosa, died July 20, 2016, at Hospice of West Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erle M. McKinney; parents, Leonard and Edna Green; brother, Forrest Hurley; and sister, Virginia Scarberry. Survivors include her sons, Roger E. McKinney and Buford O. McKinney; brother, George "J. R." Green; grandchildren, Kevin McKinney, Dustin McKinney, Kimberly Graul and Tina Strickland; and ten great-grandchildren. Lotus was very active at Valley View Baptist Church and loved singing in the church choir. She thoroughly enjoyed Sunlighters. She retired from the McDowell County National Bank and was a longtime member of the North Welch Church of God where she was the pianist and a member of the church quartet. She moved to Alabama in 1995. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to services, from 12:00 – 2:00PM at the funeral home.
