Elizabeth Easter Cumby, 95, of Wildwood Drive, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Maples Nursing Home in Bluefield.
Born on March 27, 1921 in Nemours, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Nannie Mathena Barrett. She had been a resident of Bluefield for 69 years and formerly worked for JC Penney. She had also worked for years at the Bluefield Ball Club as concessions manager. She had resided at the Maples for the past four years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hampton Cumby; a daughter, Lillian Wilson Cumby; son in law, Ted Wilson Jr. and a grandson, Wayne Wilson; brothers, Emmett, Oakley, Paris, and Howard Barrett; and sisters, Arminta McCall, Malinda Belcher, Beatrice Marrs and Hester Butt.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Cumby and wife Karen of Bluefield; grandson, Nicholas Cumby of Bluefield, Zachary and Tanner Reel of GA; granddaughter, Theresa Wilson Reel of GA; and a great grandson, Jacob Reel of GA.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Doug McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
