Diane Marie Rice, 33, of College Ave. Bluefield, West Virginia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky after a long illness. Diane was born on Wednesday, May 25, 1983 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Timothy James “Tim” Artrip and Lynnette Thompson Artrip of Falls Mills, Virginia. Diane was a 2001 graduate of Graham High School after high school she attended Bluefield State College where she graduated with a Bachelors in Business and Marketing Management. Diane went on to receive her LPN license from Summers County School of Practical Nursing. She attended Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, Virginia. Diane had been employed for five years at Princeton Community Hospital and for the last year was employed with Amedisys Home Healthcare. Diane was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Bobby Carl Artrip. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Cody Rice of Bluefield, West Virginia; parent’s Tim and Lynnette Artrip of Falls Mills, Virginia; brother Jason and wife Lynsey Artrip and niece Kaitlyn Artrip of Princeton, West Virginia; Maternal grandparents Allen and Norene Thomson of Rosman, North Carolina; Paternal grandmother Mary Jane Artrip of Falls Mills, Virginia; Mother and father in law, Wayne and Kathy Rice of Hinton, West Virginia; sisters in law, Lori Willey and daughter Kendall Willey of Hinton, West Virginia and Teresa Bauer and husband Jeff and children Aaron, Nate and Autumn of Anderson, South Carolina; brother in law Matthew Rice and wife Leanna and children Austin and Riley of Oak Hill, West Virginia and one great nephew in law; Easton Willey of Hinton, West Virginia. Funeral services will be held for Diane on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, Virginia with Pastor Bill Lykins officiating her service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia with Aaron Copolo, Thomas Gore, Marty Walker, Jason Meadows, Shannon Catron, Jeremy Anderson and Nick Earehart serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to a local no kill animal shelter of your choice.
