Dollie Victoria Whitlow, age 95, of GlenWood Park, Princeton, WV, formerly of Bramwell, died on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at GlenWood Park.
Born on July 25, 1920, in Coaldale, WV, she was a daughter of the late Harry W. and Grace M. Davidson Whitt. She had lived in Bramwell for 52 years and attended the Pentecostal Holiness and the Church of God. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Allen Lawson; her second husband, Homer Clarence Whitlow; a son, Dayton Allen Lawson; a grandson, Mark Allen Hutchens; a granddaughter, Kathleen “Kathy” Lawson; brothers, Cecil, Harry, Jr and Howard Whitt; and sisters, Lettie, Edna, Faye and Goldie.
Survivors include
Daughters, Wanda Lawson Summers of Abbs Valley, VA and Rita Whitlow Hutchens and husband Robert of Falls Mills, VA.
Grandchildren, Claude Franklin “Frank” Summers, Robert “Robbie” Hutchens, C. Keith Hutchens, Anthony “Tony” Hutchens, Rebecca “Becky” Bullock, Dayton A. Lawson, Jr. and Donna Lawson. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Rev. Dewayne Houk officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be her friends and family. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 PM prior to the service.
