Bobby Ray Brummett, Sr., age 88, of Jones Hill Road, Freeman, WV died on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his home with his family. Born on November 21, 1927, he was the son of the late Isaac James and Ellen Jane Lowe Brummett. He had lived in Freeman for the past 53 years and was a retired coal miner with 39 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Lee Osborn Brummett; a son, Donald Brummett; a grandson, Bobby Brummett, III and 7 siblings. Survivors include His sons, Bobby Brummett, Jr. of Freeman, WV, Thomas Brummett and wife Barbara of Bluefield, WV, Daniel Brummett of the home, Daren Brummett of Bluefield, WV and Timothy Brummett, Sr. and wife Rose of Bluewell, WV. Daughters, Diane Burcham and husband Brad of Yadkinville, NC and Karen Brummett of Frederick, MD Daughter-in-law, Karyn Brummett of Roanoke, VA 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Belcher Cemetery on Coaldale Mountain with Rev. Stewart Osborn officiating and where his grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. Those attending the service are meeting at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Tuesday morning.
