Robert Ray “Bob” Beasley, age 90, of Elkhorn, WV died on Thursday June 23, 2016 at his home with his family at his side. Born on November 21, 1925 in Jenkinjones, WV, he was a son of the late Edner G. and Mary Ann Gross Beasley. He had lived in McDowell County his entire life and was a retired Bank President with 49 years of service. He was President of Bank of America in Northfork until 1991. He was a graduate of Bowling Green University. It was his desire to live in McDowell County until his death and had lived in Elkhorn for the past 58 years where he was a member of Elkhorn United Methodist Church. He was also a member Grand Chapter of the West Virginia Beni Kedem Shriners in Charleston, the Welch AF & AM Masonic Lodge, and the Keystone Rotary Club where he was awarded the perfect attendance award as well as the Paul Harris Fellows Award. He was active in the Rotary Club participating in the cleanup of McDowell County. He was the last surviving member of his family. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Margaret “Tish” St. Clair Beasley of the home; Sons, Lional R. Beasley, Sr. and wife Gloria of Elkhorn, Thomas L. Beasley and wife Margie of Gate City, VA and John K. Beasley and wife Jackie of Tazewell, VA; 10 Grandchildren; and 16 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Olen Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Princeton, WV where the Welch Masonic Lodge will perform Masonic Graveside Rites and serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. The family is accepting online condolences at www.cravens-shires.com. The family is asking that memorial contributions be made to the Crippled Children’s Fund at the Beni Kedem Shrine Club in Charleston, WV, the Alzheimer’s Association or the Heart Fund.
