Robert Mitchell Gillespie

Robert Mitchell “Bob” Gillespie, 80, of Bland St. Bluefield, WV formerly of Duhring, WV passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, WV. Bob was born on July 4, 1935 in Princeton, WV to the late Harry and Hassie Mitchem Gillespie. He had lived in Bluefield for the past 3 years after moving from Duhring. He was a handyman most of his life and worked for Frankies’ La Salute many years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Pocahontas, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Marie Vecellio Gillespie; and a sister, Jean Derrick . He is survived by a niece, Carol Derrick of Texas as well as several cousins. He also left many close friends who will miss him greatly. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Pocahontas, VA with Father Paul Muyimbwa as celebrant. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where his friends and family will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.
