Robert William Vaughan

Robert William Vaughan, 90, of Freedom Road, Montcalm, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Serenity Place in Lerona. Born on March 6, 1926 in Rock, he was a son of the late Walter and Bessie Hall Vaughan. He had been a resident of Montcalm for 50 years and was a member of the Church of God at Montcalm. He was retired from WV Armature and the WV Dept. of Highways. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rurie, Garth and Herman; and his sisters, Lucille and Pauline. He was the last surviving sibling of his family. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Edna Webb Vaughan of the home; 2 sons, Jerry Vaughan of Bluefield and R. Brad Vaughan and wife Rhonda of Rock; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Mac Riggins officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where nephews will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
