Ruth Gearheart

On May 19, 2016, God called an angel home. Ruth Magdelene Murray Gearheart, 66, of Grant St. Bluefield, Virginia passed away on Thursday at Princeton Community Hospital. Ruth was born on May 03, 1950 in Pearisburg, Virginia to the late John E. Murray and Elizabeth Ann Murray McGuire. She had been a resident of Bluefield, Virginia since 1997 and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step father Woodrow McGuire; one son William Lewis Newman, I; one brother John Murray Sr. and one sister Elizabeth Ann Shinault. Survivors include her four children, two sons William Lewis Newman, II and wife Karen of North Tazewell, Virginia and Tony Allen Pennington of North Tazewell, Virginia; two daughters Beverly Farley and husband Leonard of Beckley, West Virginia and Rebecca Hardin and husband Allen of Princeton, West Virginia. Two brothers Ralph Murray and wife Vicki of Abbs Valley, Virginia and Melvin Murray and wife Judy ;Seven sisters Billie Sturgess of Bluefield, Virginia, Cynthia Pauley of Bluefield, Rita Rose and husband Bobby of Bluefield, Virginia, Zandra Pennington of Richmond, Virginia, Helen Sue Pruett and husband Harold of Bluefield, West Virginia, Louise Post of Roanoke, Virginia and Helen Proffitt. She is also survived by five granddaughters and three grandsons. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia with Rev. George Stamper officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Garden in Bluefield, Virginia where her family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of her service at the funeral home.
