Myrtle Ruth Hanshaw, 91, of Cassel's Board and Care in Princeton, West Virginia formerly of Bluewell, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Princeton, West Virginia at Castle Board and Care.
Myrtle was born on February 19, 1925 to the late John W. Evans and Mollie Belle Smith Evans. She attended Mt. Herman Baptist Church and had been a lifelong resident of Bluewell, West Virginia.
Myrtle was the last surviving member of her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer R. Hanshaw; Brothers Harold Evans, Robert Evans, Blair Evans and Roy Evans. Sisters Annie Hall and Susie Coburn.
She is survived by nieces and nephews; Clarence Hall, Junior Hall, David Hall, Freddy Hall, Tommy Hall, Charles Blevins, Bettie Church, Elizabeth Dillon, Geneva Smith, Helen Pruitt, Christen Jennings and Shirley McKinney. She will be missed by a special little girl Megan McPeak that loved her very much. She would visit her often.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home at 11:00AM with Minister Teddy Warden officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia where Junior Hall, Freddy Hall, Bradon Jennings, Mathew Jennings, and Kenny Erins serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
