Edward Wayne Pugh, 54, of Jenkinjones Mtn. Road, Anawalt, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Princeton Community Hospital. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the Faith” II Tim 4:7 Born on January 21, 1962 in Welch, he was a son of Rosie Holifield Pugh of Anawalt and the late Robert James “Bob” Pugh, Sr. He had formerly worked at McDowell Nursing and Rehab in Gary for 20 years and most recently had worked as a corrections officer for 6 years at Stevens Correctional Center in Welch. Survivors include: Wife: April Burke Pugh of the home Mother: Rosie Holifield Pugh of Anawalt Son: Brandon Pugh of Hazzard, KY Daughters: Brandi Pugh of the home Ashleigh Orttenburger and spouse Lane of Richmond, KY Brothers: Steven Lee Pugh and wife Sandy of Bluefield Robert James “Jim” Pugh, Jr. of Bluefield Sisters: Debora Bolton and husband Kenneth of Princeton Kathy Miller and husband Doug of Anawalt Grandsons: Aiden and Elliott Granddaughters: Morgan, Nevaeh, and Grace Several nieces and nephews The family also wishes to express their special thanks and gratitude to Stevens Correctional Facility and the nurses at Princeton Community Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Dan Pruett officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
