Dennis "Ray" Blankenship

Dennis “Ray” Blankenship, 66, of Simmons River Road, Montcalm, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on November 8, 1949 in Grundy, VA, he was a son of the late Ira and Margaret Mattney Blankenship. He had been a resident of Montcalm for 18 years. He was a veteran of the US Marines and served in Japan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Macy; and two brothers, Edward and Gene. Survivors include: Wife: Alice Addair Blankenship of the home Daughter: Chassy of Orlando, FL Grandson who he raised: Alex of the home 4 step children 3 grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell. Burial will follow at the Hartwell Cemetery in Hartwell, McDowell County, WV. Friends may call on Thursday from 12:00-1:00 at the funeral home.
