Margaret Ann Simmons, 76, of College Ave. Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, March 09, 2016 at The Maples nursing and Rehab center in Bluefield, West Virginia. Margaret Ann was born on January 08, 1940 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Arlie and Margaret Ayers. Margaret was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bluefield, West Virginia. She had been a resident of College Ave for the past 24 years and a lifelong resident of the Bluefield area as well as Baltimore, MD for about 20 years. Margaret Ann was an animal lover who supported the local animal shelters. Margaret had been employed as a retail sales associate and at Hardee's in Bluefield, VA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Benjamin Simmons; one brother Arlie Ayers, Jr., two sisters Evelyn Frye and Mary House. Survivors Include: Two Brothers: John A. Ayers and wife Patti of Bluefield, West Virginia James L. Ayers and wife Gayenelle of Bluefield, West Virginia Nephew: Brad J. Ayers and wife Cherie of Bluefield, Virginia Clifford Lawrence and wife Donnita of Bluefield, WV Kevin Ayers and wife Hannah of Bryan, Texas Nieces: Debbie Frye of Dublin, VA Kimberly Geiger and husband Mike of Louden, TN Memorial service will be held for Margaret Ann on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia where Pastor Matthew Coiner of First Baptist Church of Bluefield WV will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of her service at 3:00 p.m. Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com.
