Matthew N. "Sam" King, 80, of Princeton, WV died Tuesday morning March 15, 2016 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born October 1, 1935 in McComas, WV, he was the son of the late David King and Maggie Shrewsbury King. He started at Consolidation Coal Company as an electrician at Crane Creek and he was the proud owner of King's Tire Service which he founded in 1970. He was of the Christian faith and a member of the Masons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith L. King. Six brothers, William, David, Jackie, Cecil, Randolph, and Jarvis L "JL" King. One sister, Ann Barlow and special friend and brother in law Red Helmandollar.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Ed King and wife Patsy of Bluewell, WV and Matt King and wife Laura of Bluefield VA. The lights of his life, his six grandchildren, Kristian King- Finley, Russell King and wife Erin, Meredith King, David King, Nick King and Sammy King. Two great- grandchildren, Felicity King and Stark Finley, and one sister Lorraine Helmandollar. Special care-givers, Robert Dishman and Lynette Bowes.
Funeral Services will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Directory, Friday March 18, 2016 at 11 :00 am with the Reverend Scott Catron officiating. Pallbearers will be Russell King, David King, Nick King, Timm Boggess, Clinton Justice, and Rick Isaac. Honorary pallbearer, Allen Brown. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends and family may call Thursday March 17, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
