Linda Lou Underwood

Athens, WV. — Linda Lou (Cochran) Underwood, 67, of Athens, WV, and formerly of Rock, WV, went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2016. She was born in Ashland, WV on July 1, 1948 to the late Sherman S. Cochran and Ellen Stanley Cochran of Mercer County. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd Thomas Cochran and Richard Sherman Cochran and her nephew Lloyd “Little Eddie” Mabe. Linda was a long-time resident on the River Road at Rock before moving to Athens. Linda worked hard to put herself through school for nursing so she could provide for her family. She made a difference in many lives of our communities working at Bluefield Regional Medical Center for years. Linda is survived by her sister, Pamela Cochran Mabe of Rock, Howard and Austin Farley of her home, son Jamie Farley and wife Kristen and grandsons, son Shane Underwood and wife Holly and grandsons, son Gary Keyes and wife Jennifer and grandson. She was blessed with seven grandsons and numerous family members. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Eddie Mabe and Gary Keyes, Linda’s son, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the funeral home.
