Antonio “Tony” Rasi, 68, of Lynwood Drive, Bluefield, VA, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA. Born on January 18, 1948 in McDowell County, he was a son of the late Frank and Christine Burgess Rasi. He had been a resident of Bluefield, VA for 44 years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield. He was retired from Appalachian Power Company with 44 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army and served a Tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a Member of Triangle Sportsmanship Club, VFW and Falls Mills Fishing Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcie Leigh Rasi; and brother Frankie Rasi. He is survived by: His wife of 46 years, Sandy Perry Rasi of the home Sons: Aaron Rasi of Charlotte, NC Cameron Rasi & fiancé Brooke Sandifer of Bluefield, VA His faithful 4-legged companion, Chelsey Brothers: Jimmy Rasi & wife Alice of Bluefield, WV Johnny Rasi & wife Eugenia of Bluefield, VA Jerry Rasi & wife Karen of Bluefield, VA Goddaughters: Jennifer Farmer & Jessica Clemens Numerous nieces & nephews Special friends: Ken & Jeanette Murphy; Todd & Reda Compton; and his wonderful neighbors. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Deacon Don Hammond officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where Military Graveside Honors will be performed by VFW Post 9696 of Bluefield, VA and American Legion Post 14 of Pocahontas, VA.
