Marjorie Roland

Marjorie Murray Roland, 90, of Airport Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at her home. Born on October 1, 1925 in River, KY, she was a daughter of the late Jonathan and Doris Mary Brown Murray. She had been a resident of Bluefield since 1993 and was a homemaker. She came to West Virginia at an early age where she met her husband the late Boyd Monroe Roland. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage before his death. She will always be remembered as a kind and sweet person and was a caring and devoted mother and often served as a community mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Monroe Roland. Survivors include: 2 sons: Paris Hubert Roland of Bluefield Perry Daniel Roland of Charlottesville, VA 2 grandchildren: Andrew and Amanda Roland Sister: Irene Murray Castle of River, KY Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Ocie Murray, Jr., her nephew, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 2:30-3:00 at the funeral home.
