Robert Alan Lunsford

Robert Alan Lunsford, 57, of Union Street Bluefield, WV passed away on Tuesday, March 01, 2016 at Charleston Area Medical Center, from a long illness. Alan was born August 22, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to the late James Ryland and Frances Nira Taylor Lunsford. Alan served his country in the US Navy. Alan was employed at Bailey Lumber company at Bluefield Glass for many years, also at Bluefield Glass and Interior. He always said his favorite was Warlick Furniture and glass where he worked for Bill Nabors, a good friend. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Sharon Lunsford of the home; two children whom he loved dearly Son Nick Lunsford and daughter Brianna Lunsford both of Bluefied, WV. One brother William “Billy” Alford Lunsford of Bluefield. Four sisters Donna Ratcliffe and husband Claude of North Carolina, Debbie Lunsford of Bluefield, Tammy Bell and husband Oran “PeeWee” of Bluefield and Diana Day of Bluefield. Two grandchildren Patience and Kayden Dobbs. His aunt Louise Burkhart of Bluefield; brother and sister in law David and Karen Mooney. He is also survived by several neices and nephews. Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 04, 2016 at 7:00pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV with Rev. Fred Mooney officiating the service. In keeping get with Alan wishes he was cremated. The Lunsford family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, March 04, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
