Douglas Holleman

Douglas G. Holleman, 86, of Red Cross Street, Gary, WV, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his home. Born on May 19, 1929 in Pageton, WV, he was a son of the late BJ and Sallie Irene Riffe Holleman. He had been a lifelong resident of Gary and was a retired coal miner for US Steel with 37 years of service. He was a member of UMWA Mr. Holleman was a veteran of the US Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys M. Little Elmore Holleman; a son and daughter; a sister, Lois Evans; and two brothers, James and Paul Holleman. Survivors include: 2 stepsons: Lewis Little of Hickory, NC Robert Little of Gary Stepdaughter: Peggy Farley of Hickory, NC Sister: Betty Dillon of AZ Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, February 13, 2015 at 1:00PM at the Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Bluefield, VA with Rev. Jimmy Sanson officiating. Entombment will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00-12:30 at the funeral home.
